WISE – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment is an Erasmus+ Adult Education project running from November 2025 to October 2028. Its goal is to improve financial literacy and economic resilience among migrant women while equipping adult educators with innovative tools, methods, and certification pathways for inclusive financial education.
The project responds to the fact that many migrant women face serious barriers to financial independence, including limited access to financial education, language difficulties, low digital skills, and unfamiliarity with banking and credit systems. WISE addresses these challenges through a structured and accessible learning approach that combines a competence framework, certification, digital learning, educator training, and open educational resources.
Through its European partnership, WISE aims to support more than 500 learners and 50 educators, while helping adult education institutions integrate financial intelligence into their long-term learning offer. The project promotes inclusion, lifelong learning, and equal access to economic opportunities across Europe.
Objectives
WISE aims to strengthen the financial literacy, economic resilience, and practical financial intelligence of adult learners, especially migrant women, while also equipping adult educators with the tools and competences needed to deliver inclusive and effective financial education. The project is designed to support financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and long-term socio-economic empowerment, in line with Erasmus+ priorities on inclusion, educator development, and lifelong learning.
Raise awareness of financial literacy as a tool for inclusion
WISE promotes financial literacy, economic self-sufficiency, and entrepreneurship as essential tools for the social and economic integration of migrant women. The project recognizes that better financial knowledge can help learners make informed decisions, reduce vulnerability, and build greater independence in everyday life.
Equip educators with inclusive and practical teaching competences
A key objective of WISE is to support adult educators and trainers with practical competences, structured tools, and inclusive teaching strategies so they can provide culturally sensitive financial literacy education. This responds directly to the need for better-prepared educators in adult learning settings working with disadvantaged and underrepresented groups.
Integrate financial intelligence into adult education
The project also aims to help adult education providers and institutions mainstream financial intelligence into their regular learning offers. Through its competence framework, certification system, digital course, and educator support tools, WISE is intended to make financial literacy a more permanent and recognized part of adult education.
Promote financial accessibility for vulnerable adult learners
WISE seeks to ensure that migrant women, low-income individuals, and other socially disadvantaged adults can access financial education regardless of their income, background, or educational level. The project is designed to make learning more accessible through inclusive content, practical scenarios, digital tools, and multilingual resources.
Target group
WISE is designed for people who face barriers to financial independence and for the educators who support them. The project focuses especially on migrant women, while also addressing the needs of adult educators and trainers and other adult learners in vulnerable situations who need practical financial knowledge for everyday life, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Migrant Women
Migrant women are the main target group of WISE. The application highlights that many of them face multiple and overlapping barriers, including language difficulties, low income, limited formal education, unfamiliarity with financial systems, and reduced access to banking, credit, and digital financial tools. WISE is designed to support them with practical learning in budgeting, saving, responsible credit use, consumer rights, digital banking, and entrepreneurship, so they can build greater financial autonomy and long-term economic security.
Adult Educators and Trainers
A second key target group is made up of adult educators, trainers, and financial literacy professionals. The application explains that many educators working with disadvantaged learners do not yet have the training, methods, or resources needed to teach financial literacy effectively. WISE addresses this gap by offering structured training, digital learning resources, competence-based tools, and certification pathways so educators can deliver high-quality, inclusive financial education in adult learning settings.
Adult Learners Seeking Financial Stability
WISE also reaches a broader group of adult learners seeking financial stability, beyond migrant women alone. The application specifically mentions low-skilled workers, single parents, and economically vulnerable adults who need stronger financial decision-making skills and more confidence in managing their resources. For these learners, WISE offers flexible and accessible opportunities such as the online course, self-assessment tools, and workshops that allow them to learn at their own pace.
Partners
WISE is implemented by a diverse European consortium of seven organisations from Sweden, Austria, Poland, Czechia, Romania, Germany, and Slovakia. According to the application, the partnership was built to combine expertise in financial literacy, adult education, digital learning, migrant integration, certification systems, and human-centred entrepreneurship training. This mix gives the project both practical relevance and strong European added value.
