The WISE4WOMEN – Financial Intelligence of Immigrant Women for Independent Stability and Empowerment project brings together organisations with different but complementary areas of expertise, all contributing to the shared goal of supporting migrant women through education, inclusion and financial empowerment.
Another partner is Ukrainer in Bonn e.V., a non-profit organisation based in Bonn, Germany.
Founded in April 2022, Ukrainer in Bonn e.V. is a volunteer-driven organisation created to support Ukrainian refugees and migrants affected by the war. Since its establishment, the organisation has focused on providing practical assistance, facilitating integration and creating community-based initiatives that respond to the needs of people rebuilding their lives in a new country.
This direct experience of working with refugees and migrant communities is especially valuable within the project. Migrant women may face multiple challenges when adapting to a new environment, including language barriers, unfamiliar administrative and financial systems, limited access to information and reduced economic security.
Within WISE4WOMEN, Ukrainer in Bonn e.V. contributes an important community perspective, helping the partnership better understand the everyday realities faced by migrant women. Its close connection with the people it supports can help ensure that the educational resources developed within the project remain practical, relevant and adapted to real needs.
The organisation’s focus on integration and community support also reflects the broader objectives of WISE4WOMEN. Financial literacy is closely linked to the ability to participate independently in society, make informed decisions and feel more confident when managing everyday responsibilities.
Cooperation among the WISE4WOMEN partners creates opportunities to exchange experience in supporting migrant communities and learn from initiatives developed in response to the needs of refugees and newcomers.
By combining the community-based experience of organisations such as Ukrainer in Bonn e.V. with the educational, research and training expertise of the other partners, WISE4WOMEN aims to develop meaningful learning tools that can strengthen financial knowledge, confidence and independence among migrant women across Europe.
